About This Webinar 

This session will focus on the parent's role in supporting their children who are learning in a virtual environment. Common challenges will be discussed, along with simple solutions and suggestions for making the whole process feel less stressful and more manageable for parents and students. Information in this session will be relevant for parents of students of all ages, preschool through high school. 

About The Presenter

Lisa Combs, MA Special Education, is a certified autism specialist, author, consultant, and adjunct faculty with Wright State University. Lisa earned her B.S. and M.A. degrees in Special Education from Ball State University, with additional training in educational administration and applied behavioral analysis. Lisa's 30 year career in education has spanned preschool through high school programs, and has ranged from classroom instruction to direction of student services to classroom consultation and job embedded coaching. As a founding member of the Miami Valley Autism Coaching Team, Lisa provided behavioral and instructional coaching for thousands of educators over 8 years. 

Her specialties include evidence based autism support, positive behavior support, co-teaching and early childhood social emotional learning. She is the author of "Push to Open: A Teacher's Quick Guide to Universal Design for Teaching Students on the Autism Spectrum in the General Education Classroom, "and co-author of "Gear Up for Success: A Three-Tiered Planning Model for Supporting Learners on the Autism Spectrum," both published by AAPC Publishing. Lisa is also the author and publisher of the Best Friend Books series of children's books for social emotional learning, and the associated social emotional curriculum, which can be found at www.bestfriendbooks.com.
