All About Accessibility: Accessible Ohio
May 18, 2023 marks the 12th Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). The purpose of GAAD is to get everyone talking, thinking, and learning about digital (web, software, mobile, etc.) access and the inclusion of people with disabilities.
Governor DeWine and Lt. Governor Husted’s Executive Budget for Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) funds a brand-new initiative called Accessible Ohio. This initiative will support Ohio’s cities, counties, state agencies, attractions, and venues in becoming accessible and inclusive for individuals with disabilities.
Watch a Global Accessibility Awareness 2023 video with Julie Wood, OOD Worksite Accessibility Specialist, explaining how Accessible Ohio will prioritize accessibility from the start, promote inclusiveness, and ensure everyone can experience Ohio in an equitable way.
