All About Accessibility: Children’s Books Spread Inclusion and Positivity Off and On the Field
At the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields, the fun and games extend far beyond the diamond. Joey, the lovable mascot, brings hope, joy, and valuable life lessons.
Through two children’s books, Joey is helping to teach kids the importance of including everyone in the game of life while maintaining a positive attitude, even when faced with challenges. “Joey, the Can-Do Kangaroo” and “Joey and the Joy Factory,” written by Chad Caddell, Nuxhall Foundation Board Member, are available for online ordering.
In these books Joey is a friend to all students, using relatable stories and vibrant illustrations to model behaviors like:
- Treating others with kindness and respect
- Embracing differences and disabilities
- Persevering through adversity with optimism
- Being a good sport and team player
The proceeds from the books go directly back to the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields and The Nuxhall Foundation.
