Family ECHO: Autism is a virtual learning program for families and caregivers raising children with autism. The sessions are designed to shift medical and behavioral information from the clinic into the hands of parents and caregivers so they can learn to better support and care for their autistic children. Session topics have been chosen based on input from participants. As an “all teach, all learn” environment, Family ECHO: Autism connects families with an interdisciplinary panel of experts from Nationwide Children's Hospital and the Autism Care Network. The series is designed to increase autism knowledge, build leadership skills for managing interdisciplinary care teams, and provide strategies that can be applied by families and their teams. Join us virtually for the upcoming 2-part series focused on “Empowering Women of Color to Lead Care for Children with Autism.”   Part One: Wednesday, October 9 | 4 to 5:15 p.m. ET Presenters will provide participants with an overview and share lived experiences, highlighting the barriers and disparities that families of color face in accessing care and services for children on the autism spectrum. Part Two: Wednesday, October 23 | 4 to 5:15 p.m. ET Families will observe the skills and strategies used by the panel and be encouraged to collaborate with regional centers, school districts and other providers to support the needs of communities of color. Professional providers attending will be inspired to think about ways to reach out to their local communities and offer their support.
